
Roasting Process
What makes Ferris a local coffee roaster? No, we can't buy our beans from local farmers (thanks to living in a Winter Wonderland!) However, we roast all of our premium coffee beans onsite. Whether single origin or blended, our batches are watched over by experienced coffee roasters to assure a quality roast each and every time. We can satisfy any palate with a range from the light Half City roast to deep, rich espresso roasts.
Half City – Our lightest roast is a perfect breakfast cup. Generally mellow flavor can be complemented with cream or sugar.
City – City or ‘American’ roast lets you enjoy all of the flavor characteristics of the bean. It is the standard roast for most coffee drinkers.
Full City – A perfect roast for those looking for something a little darker without that ‘burnt’ taste. The bean looks speckled as natural oils rise to the surface.
French – French roast leaves the bean shiny and dark as the oils come to the surface. Enjoyed throughout Europe.
Italian – Drinker beware - our darkest roast is not for the faint of heart. The roast profile dominates the flavor of these coffees.
